Total Mixed Ration (TMR)

Total Mixed Ration (TMR) can be described as a mixture of  both the roughage and the processed ingredients, formulated and mixed to supply the cows requirements, in a form that precludes section. It is designed to be the sole feed source given over a 24 hour period and fed ad lib for optimum results.

The benefits of a TMR include increased milk production, enhanced use of low cost alternative feed ingredients, ability to control the forage concentrate ratio, lower incidence of metabolic and disorders and reduced labor input for feeding .

Rice bran is a kind of provender to increase and protein. Using rice bran with other fibre feeds can complete nutrition.

MATERIAL

Corn should be harvested for silage the ear is well dented but before the leaves turn brown and dry. The quantity and quality of corn silage are at their peak in this stage of development. The ear has accumulated most of its potential feeding value, but there has been little loss from the leaves and stalks. After the dent stage, feeding value of corn stalks and leaves decreases while field losses increase.
